Hello, I'm Gordon Abbott and I'm Atomic Age Photography. I'm a software engineer by trade but have always enjoyed photography. After working on a couple of weddings I realized that this is what I really love to do. Since making a living doing what I love sounded like a good idea, I started Atomic Age Photography as a company and am now pursuing the dream.
This venture is currently part time for me, but I do not treat it as a hobby! It's a major undertaking forming a corporation, doing all the proper tax reporting and other things that go along with running a business and I take it very seriously.
Photography is a service business and without satisfied customers, I'm not going to exist very long. I'm a member of WPPI, and I invest money in classes and workshops every year to ensure that I can provide the best possible service to my customers. I also make sure I have the best equipment possible so that I can properly document a once in a lifetime event.
When I'm shooting a wedding, I tend to stay in the background as much as possible. I view it as part of my job to make sure I document a very special day in a couple's life but to make sure I'm not a central part of that day. It's about the couple embarking on a lifetime voyage with the help of friends and family. I'm there to document that, not get in the way.
